Dear friends and colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to an online meeting dedicated to an interesting and important part of the cultural heritage of the Danube region – traditional and national drinks.
For centuries, the Danube has connected different peoples, cities and cultures. Along the river, numerous traditions, customs and stories have been passed down from one generation to another. Among them, wine, fruit brandies, beer, liqueurs and other traditional drinks have an important place in everyday life, family traditions, celebrations and social gatherings.
Different parts of the Danube region have developed their own traditions of producing and enjoying these drinks. Whether it is homemade fruit brandy, wine from local vineyards, traditionally brewed beer or a special regional liqueur, each drink tells a story about a place, its people, customs and way of life.
During the meeting, we would like to present different traditions and explore how they are preserved, passed on to younger generations and adapted to modern life.
The programme will also include two musical performances, adding another dimension to our journey through the traditions, customs and everyday life of the Danube region.To make the meeting accessible to all participants, translation into different languages will be available via the Wordly application. This will enable participants from different countries to follow the presentations and discussions more easily and to actively take part in the exchange of experiences.
The event will be held in English. If required, interpretation can be provided in Bulgarian, Romanian, Serbian, Ukrainian and German.
